Beyond The Tales- Chapter 8

 ‘Can you never get dressed on time? what is taking you so long.Oh wow.’ Harman was stunned to see how pretty Emma was looking. 

 ‘I was ready ages ago but thanks to someone I had to go change.’

‘You look way better in this.’

‘I know, but why does it even matter? it is just a dinner.’

‘Just a dinner that we could be late to, so hurry up.’ Harman and Emma are going with Jo for dinner at a suburban restaurant that Jo has been praising all morning.

‘See we made it and see she isn't here, you my friend have managed to reach on time and the world is such a better place now.’

‘HaHa very funny’. 

Harman watches Jo get out of the car he waves while walking towards her  saying, ‘Finally, we have been waiting for you for ages.’ 

‘I am so sorry love, it is all Ryan’s fault you know such a lousy driver he is.’ saying that Jo kisses Harman and walks toward Emma to give her a hug. 

‘Jo stop with all the compliments of how amazing as a driver I am.’ they all turn around to the voice of a 6 feet tall guy wearing a perfectly tailored coat who is busy looking down struggling with his cufflinks. 

‘I am sure she was going ga ga about my driving skills again wasn’t she Harman’ 

‘You got that right Ryan, classic Jo.’ saying that Harman hugs Ryan.  

‘Enough you both already. Emma meet Ryan,my best friends brother and my business partner.’

‘Hi, nice to meet you.’

‘Hi Emma, must say have heard a lot about you.’ Ryan notices that he has already lost Emma who is busy looking at his undone cufflinks. 

‘I have been kind of struggling with those, not one of my best days.’, says Ryan who is a little embarrassed about not looking so perfect. 

‘Need a little help?’ saying that Emma helps Ryan to attach his cufflinks. 

‘Thank you it is always good to get little help.’

 ‘Are they not cute together, I knew it.’ says Jo breaking Harman’s trail of thought.’

‘What? cute together, don’t tell me you brought Ryan to set him up with Emma?”

‘Ya, I thought Emma would feel a little left out between us and she would need someone to talk to.’

‘Why would she feel left out?’

‘Hey guys if you are done whispering to each other can you'll walk a little faster?’ says Ryan who is already at the top of the stairs. 

While they all are standing waiting to be seated Emma notices a giant fish tank at the end of the hall way. ‘Harman look how huge the fish tank is’ you can see how suddenly her face is all lit up as she can’t get her eyes off that fish tank. Before Harman could say anything Jo suggests that Ryan should take Emma so that she can see the fish tank up close while they wait to be seated. 

Ryan could see the way Emma was looking at the tank, the curiosity in her eyes was hard to hide. ‘You really do love this fish tank don’t you?’

‘It’s just that it brings back a lot of memories, when I first met Harman even he had such a massive tank in his apartment, one day I looked at the tank and said,they belong out there free in the ocean, the next minute you know we both were at the river bank setting them free. The tank at his apartment has been empty ever since.’

‘You guys have some connection, when Harman first got here he wouldn't stop talking about you. It is great to finally meet you Emma.’ saying this they both walked back towards the restaurant. 

After the dinner they all walk out, ‘I am so full, God I ate way too much’, says Emma who was surprised by how great the food was. 

‘I am so glad you liked the food Emma, now if you both don't mind is it okay if I steal Harman for the night we have hardly got any time together since he got here, Ryan could you please drop Emma to the hotel?’

‘There is no need for that, Jo we do have the whole day tomorrow and the hotel is out of Ryan’s way why hassle him?’ says Harman who has been awfully quite all evening. 

‘It is no hassle you both can go enjoy the rest of the night and I will make sure Emma is dropped safely’

‘I agree, Harman you should go I will be fine.’ Harman looked a little disappointed but he didn't have an option as he was out numbered. 

‘Ready to go back to the hotel Emma?’

‘Is is okay if we walk?’

‘Yeah why not, it is a beautiful evening’ saying this Emma and Ryan bid Jo and Harman good bye.
