First thing first, was it worth it ? Duh obviously it’s Disneyland the happiest place on earth.
Like every other person who has had the thought of going alone to Disney even I had a lot of questions so I thought of taking expert advice, the concierge and the guest service people of my hotel. I was staying in an all expense paid hotel next to Disneyland making the hotel staff experts on this topic, mostly everyone wanted me to do go to Disney instead of Universal Studio because of the distance. I had people tell me why do you want to go to Disneyland alone it is a family place after all ? which they are right about, but going alone is still not a bad idea.
I went to Disney at 8 in the morning and I stayed back till 12:30 at night. I still had things I wanted to do basically the whole experience was worth it.
Let weigh it in the whole pros and cons scale :
Pros of going ALONE:
There is no one stoping you: From going and meeting the Disney Princess to sitting on rides like Winnie the Pooh I did it all. You literally don't have anyone judging you and telling you what is cool and what is not.
The Single Riders Line : To be honest to you there are only a very few rides where you have this option, but that feeling of cutting into the line and walking straight right in is worth it.
You can just make yourself at home |
You will meet new people: It is more than normal to start talking to people around you after being in the same line for around 25 minutes or so. I had kids around me teaching me Disney trivia from the length of Rapunzel's hair to the importance of watching Pinocchio.
Much needed me time: We all as humans need to learn to embrace our own company, with a sea full of people around you it is amazing how much time you get to self reflect and enjoy little things.
Best view for everything : It is harder to find a good place to stand to watch the parade and fireworks when you have a lot of people with you. When you are alone you just fit right in.
Cons:
You are alone: Every ride that you get on the first question that you will get is “ how many people?” and for the first few times saying “Just me” will be an awkward feeling, but soon you will notice it has a nice ring to it.
Things to do when ALONE in Disneyland
Read a book: If you enjoy reading carry a book along, the wait to get onto rides is long at times.
Carry a iPod or a tablet: Play a game or listen to music if you thinking standing alone in the line could get awkward.
Eat it all: There is no one to judge you eat anything and everything that you would like.
There where times where I felt alone, but I would not trade this experience for anything in the world, sometimes you just do things even if you have to do it alone.
Just Wow!! I wish i will also visit to Disneyland one day!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will :) It will be worth the wait
