Beyond The Tales - Chapter 10

“See you at 8? - Ryan.” pops a message on Emma’s phone.
“8? I didn't know there were plans to go anywhere.”
“There isn’t but remember you owe me one.”
“See you at 8, where are we going?”
“Now that is a surprise.”
“I don’t like surprises.”
“Good, you are going to love this one then.”

“Who are you smirking at?” asked Harman who notices the sudden change of expression on Emma’s face.
“Nothing important, it’s just. Forget about it.”
“Weird as always,I was thinking we could go to an Indian place to eat tonight.”
“Tonight? mind if I take a rain check on that,I kind of have plans or something like that.”
“For sure, I should have asked. So I will see you tomorrow?”
“See you tomorrow.”

Getting ready for the evening was fairly easy for Emma she wore the first dress she pulled out of her suitcase, she opted for a high bun. Put on the matching earrings, high heel shoes and she was ready. She thought to herself how fairly simple it was to get ready when she didn't have to go out with Harman.
At 7:45 she walks out in the lobby and there he was standing in a t-shirt and jeans very unlikely Ryan.
“I still have 15 minutes I am off to change.”
“I thought you knew it was casual thing, what were you expecting a date night?”
“This is me being casual.”
“Emma,I did manage to read a few of your articles and I know for sure you are a pyjama girl this is so not causual.”
“Okay fine,I am off to change.”
“Hey you, don’t. You look amazing, I was just kidding if it makes you feel any better I could change.”
“No, you look great.I like the casual you but can I please go and change into my flat shoes?”

Ryan hasn't got his car today instead he has got his motorcycle. “Is this yours? like yours yours? Can I ride? Please.”
“Yes this is mine, may I remind you now that you don't have a license to ride here?”
“Oh no, now this just makes me sad.”
“Here you go, I hope you are a safe rider.” saying this Ryan hands the keys to Emma.
“Do you think we can really do this?”
“I don’t know, lets find out.” saying this they both hit the road after a few wrong turns and endless arguments they finally arrive.
“Do you know that you are the worst navigator ever?”
“I was amazing,it was your riding.”
“Riding? don't you dare say that.I was great.”
“Okay, sorry I can’t deny that. Now are you ready for your big surprise?”
“Yes I am.”
“Welcome to the Melbourne Star,I am taking you on the ride of this giant Ferris wheel. So now you can see my city through my eyes.”
“This is so surreal, you know I have always wanted to go to London just to ride the London Eye and this I must say is pretty close to that.”
Being a weekday there hardly was any line to the Melbourne Star, their turn to ride in it came fairly early, may be the lack of crowd was a reason that they got a whole cabin to themselves. Once the got into the cabin and the wheel started to move Ryan noticed that Emma had her eyes shut.
“Emma you know that the whole point of being on a ferris wheel is that you can enjoy the view right?”
“Yeah, I am well aware but I am scared, I am scared of heights.”
“You are what? oh God why didn't you tell me this before,no wonder you hate surprises but didn't you just say that you wanted to ride in the London Eye?”
“Haven’t you ever wanted to do something that you are scared of?”
Ryan walked towards Emma who was sitting on the bench took her by her hand walked her towards the glass wall and whispered in her ears “Emma open you eyes, trust me 30 seconds of courage is all you need.”
It might have been the first time that Emma must have readily agreed to do something she was so fearful of and as she opened her eyes she couldn't believe how beautiful the view was,the lights, the docklands made the whole view so perfect.
“This is so beautiful,I don't know what to say.”
“You face’s inability to hide what you are feeling is enough for me to know what you want to say.”
They sat there for a while without saying anything just looking at the view.

Treat Others As You Want To Be Treated

My motto has always been when in doubt write it out, I have been thinking about this for a really long time and I think I have finally  found the words.  You got to do something for me, think about the last time you bumped into someone or someone by mistake hit your hand. I doubt you can recall this instance now think of the time when someone said something to you which made you feel really small or miserable. I am sure you could think of at least one or two. Look at it this way when someone bumped into you it must have hurt you that time may be it even left your skin red, got a few reactions out of you. On the other hand when someone said something to you, randomly used a few words which left no physical scar on you it is this instance that you clearly remember, you know why because it is the way they made you feel.  The sad fact is that we have all done this, we have become the generation th...

Someday, may be on a Sunday

She was standing in the corner of the room, alone as always listing to this very handsome looking gentleman playing his Trumpet. She could hear people talking around her and breaking her concentration. All she wanted was for everyone to disappear so she could be all ears, but didn't happen. Soon the trumpeter stopped playing making her sad, she hadn't heard someone play so well and she didn't want him to stop.  She decided to step outside, it was a perfect night with the stars twinkling and the cold breeze blowing. She sat on the grass and grazed at the stars.  "Do you have a lighter?" asked a man with a husky voice from the dark  she got up to acknowledge the voice noticing it was none other than the trumpeter.  "Sorry, I don't smoke" she said in a trembling tone.  He walked out and sat next to her. They both sat there looking at the stars, neither of them spoke a word. He then broke the silence ...
