Being a huge Real Madrid and super Ronaldo fan, it had always been a dream of mine to see the team play and what better place than at Santiago Bernabéu, that day was filled with high energy, tension and full of beautiful memories.
The day I learnt that I am going to be travelling to Madrid the first thing I did was google to find out if there was a match happening and bingo there it was April 12th Real Madrid Vs Wolfsburg. If you are a football fan you would know that this match was very important for Real to win as Real was already two goals down and they had to give it all that they had in this game, the match was suppose to be a match filled with lots of tension and anxiety. For me I would I have taken any match but I was going to get to witness a Champions league match.
After yelling at the top of my voice and finally getting back to my senses I knew the next big thing was getting tickets for the match.
I know for a matter of fact that I have the best family on planet earth, for one my mom knows who Ronaldo is and she knew how big of a deal this was for me. It was her who went like "If you are going to see the match you better end up getting the best seats." For me I knew that I wanted the seats which was close enough to the playing field and around the goalpost and I got exactly what I wanted.
Madrid is such a beautiful country to visit, The day of the match I left my hotel room at 10 in the morning with the match just about 8 hours away, now you can't blame me for my over enthusiasm. I spent the day exploring the city and when I finally decided to head toward the stadium at first I was a little anxious about not being able to locate the stadium but that didn't seem to be a problem, you don't need to speak Spanish for that. All I had to say was Santiago Bernabéu and everyone knew where it was. You can walk to the stadium, take a bus or a metro the stadium is super accessible.
Once I made my way to the stadium after a lot of self pinching and awestruck moments I knew it was time to make my way towards the official Real Madrid Store and it for sure didn't disappoint. The store has it all you name it and it is there, no wonder four hours before the match the store was packed with people trying out different things, the excitement was visible.
The only disappointing thing for me about the store was that they don't keep last season stuff and I wanted to buy the last season pink jersey which was something I really adored but nonetheless I did manage to get myself a Real Madrid Training Polo which now proudly holds the spot of my most favourite purchase ever, it is so comfy I can confess it was very hard to get myself out of it. If it was for me I wouldn't ever want to get out of those.
If you support a team then you could vouch for the fact that for a fan the whole process is very important so be it standing in rain just waiting for the players bus to arrive when you know for a matter of fact that you will not be able to see them and all you will manage to see is the awesome bus (P.S. the bus is awesome). I think it is a really important part for developing momentum, the pre match chants, the excitement that you can see on the faces of everyone knowing that this is just the beginning of all the awesomeness that awaits.
You have to love the stadium with an attendance of around 76,000 (I googled that) it was still very easy to get in, they have great staff, easy to locate seats and great infrastructure. Once I got myself comfortable in my seat it finally sinked in me that I was so close to the pitch, the energy in the stadium was electrifying.
When the players got on the pitch for their pre-match warm up there it was my dream standing so close to me, the team was warming up so close to my seat I was out of words but that didn't stopped me from all the cheering and crazy yelling.
For those who didn't actually see the match Real Madrid won the match with Ronaldo scoring a hat-rick which I was a proud witness to. Santiago Bernabéu is for sure A Place Where Dreams Come True, mine sure did.

I went alone for the match and I sure did miss my friends but as the match progressed and with each passing minute you feel that you know everyone in the stadium as you are all cheering and going through the same emotion, nothing can beat that feeling. Being a person who doesn't know Spanish it was kind of a task cheering cause everyone around you is yelling the same thing in Spanish and you are the only one yelling in english that sure does ends up attracting a lot of attention, the good part I did learn a few Spanish chants.
